Hi Andi! Firstly, can you tell me a bit about yourself?

I've been a television presenter now for 6 years and prior to that I was a radio announcer, so it was a natural transition! I Love to exercise; Boxing, dancing, climbing the 1000 steps at Ferntree Gully or walks on the beach. My other job is as a chiropractic assistant. I have a qualification and I’m very passionate about health education; Prevention is much better than cure!

How did you get started in television?

During announcing gigs at MIX101.1 FM Melbourne; I was asked to audition for the role of roving announcer at Melbourne Storm rugby league games. After 2 years of working live feed to camera, I had a good grounding of presenting and scored my first TV show as a presenter on Melbourne Woman (a lifestyle show on Ch7). I then did Beyond the Boundary (a football lifestyle show on Ch10), and this is my second season of Shopping for Love on Channel 9.

What do you love most about TV presenting? Being able to tell a story and entertain, make people laugh, being able to educate and finding ‘truth’, whatever that may be. Some people say my ability to connect with people straight away and the rapport we have is a bit of a ‘gift’.

What surprises you most about working on Shopping for Love? How sincerely keen people are to find love.. I’m married so I’ve forgotten what it’s like to want a partner so desperately!

Do any of the contestants on the show ever hit on you? They actually do! I'm very friendly and cheeky so I think they must think they have a chance and are hedging their bets in case they lose… I think they must not have noticed my wedding rings either!

What's the most challenging thing about working on television? To do well in any job, you have to be on time, be a team player, have sincere enthusiasm and be passionate. This may get a little amplified for TV.

Any advice for budding presenters? Practice your craft! Do community radio. Make sure you are entering the world of TV presenting not for fame… Fame should be a bi-product of what you do.

Touching on the big issue this month, what's your ultimate lust-have gift this Valentine's Day? Anything sparkly that may come in a little box! Bling it on baby! (That’s not a typo!)

And your own fail-safe Valentine's trick? Any surprise! Spontaneity is the key.
